Game Review vs Henley below.

Hi All,

Aside from the results, what a great day at the club on Saturday!

There was an electric atmosphere during and after the game. The support shown to the players during the game and the Auctions etc associated with the Mental health day was absolutely brilliant and shows what a great footy club and community we have.

From a football perspective, the A grade game was played with a finals like atmosphere and intensity. Despite the result not going our way, I walk away knowing that the exposure to that kind of game will serve our players well.

At stages of the game, I felt we had control of the game but we couldn’t execute when it mattered and allowed Henley to stay in touch. To Henley’s credit, they defended very well all day and made it difficult for us from a ball movement perspective.

Turnovers (ours) were probably the difference in the game but we also must acknowledge the pressure of the opposition and the occasion as a factor in this.

Adam Scholz played a great game on Saturday, he worked tirelessly around the clearances and looked damaging in our forward half also. Despite a heavy tag, I thought Henry Papatolis played a great game, his work rate is phenomenal and has had a brilliant season so far. Declan Grant and Tom Unger were very good in our backline as usual and I thought Will Papatolis played well for 4 quarters in game 150!

At This time of year we have to move on. We have another massive game this week versus Broadview at Broadview and a Prelim final to prepare for the week after.

Exciting times for the footy club!
